Impressive performances in Pairs Head of the River Race

Sudbury Rowing Club had four crews competing in the Pairs Head of the River Race on the Thames. The course was 4.5 km from Chiswick Bridge to Harrods Depository and there were over 360 crews taking part.

It was an early start for the crews who had to be on the river ready to race by 9:30 am and on a low tide the conditions were mild and calm. Tim Wallace and Lydia Brown raced in the Masters B doubles event and were second in their category in a time of 15:59 finishing 232nd overall.

The Womens Junior 18 double of Jess Wilby and Emily Norfolk finished in a time of 16:35, 278th place overall. Amelia Moule and Martha Bullen raced in the Womens Championship doubles where they finished 109th overall, third in their category. They were the sixth fastest women's crew overall in a time of 15:03.

Byron Bullen and Harry Moule raced in the Mens Open Championship doubles. They finished sixth in their category in an excellent time of 13:48 and were in eighteenth place overall.
